Best Commercials From The Super Bowl

As has seemingly been the case in recent years, there weren’t a ton of great commercials during this year’s Super Bowl. But there were still a couple standouts with a few other solid entries. Take a look below to relive some of the better moments.

Peter Dinklage (Doritos) and Morgan Freeman (Mtn Dew Ice) rapping: Best commercial and it wasn’t even close. Plus, there was the brief shot of Dinklage breathing fire. Could this be an early hint and a much-speculated reveal in the final season of Game of Thrones?

The Bud Knight: You knew Bud Light was going to have a new edition to the “Dilly Dilly” commercials. It wasn’t amazing, but it was another solid entry.

Tide: The surprise hit of the year, Tide hit it out of the park with their ads this year, starring fan favorite, and Stranger Things star, David Harbour.

Chris Pratt Michelob Ultra: Chris Pratt makes everything better (except Passengers, Passengers sucked, I just wanted to remind you) so this makes what would have otherwise been a so-so commercial pretty enjoyable.

Jeep Wrangler: Similar to the Michelob Ultra commercials, this one relies on its star power; in this case, Jeff Goldblum. Not a particularly funny or creative commercial, but come on, it’s Jeff Goldblum.

Groupon: Honestly, not that good, but who doesn’t love a good nut shot, am I right?

Alexa: The ad speaks for itself. I got a chuckle out of it.

Winter Olympics: I LOVE the Olympics, so I couldn’t make this list without including it.

  1. Could not disagree more about the Mountain Dew/Doritos ad being the best ad by far. Just because Peter Dinklage and Morgan Freeman are in it doesn’t mean it is the best. Yes, it was good, but with all they hyped it up to be it was just ok. Alexa ads were much funnier, and the funniest ads in my opinion by far were the Tide ads. They come in with the first one that was all around just clever and funny, poking fun at the various types of ads you will see. Then, each next ad they trick us into thinking it is going to be something else only for us to see it is a Tide ad. I mean the Old Spice guy on a horse having a bottle of Tide come out of his hand? That was incredible. Whoever thought of those ads was so clever and funny, Doritos/Mountain Dew was just a gimmick, not that clever.
