The cast for the upcoming 37th season of Survivor, dubbed David vs. Goliath, was revealed today. In this newest iteration of the hit reality series, the 20 castaways will be split into two tribes. The tribes, according to the CBS website, will be “comprised of those who come from a place of privilege and those who have scratched and clawed their way through life to prove themselves.”
Below you’ll find a list of the members on each tribe. I’ll make note of a couple that stand out for one reason or another. This will be based solely on their bio information found from CBS. I will do a more in-depth preview once some of the cast interviews start to come out.
David Tribe
In first name alphabetical order:
- Bi Nguyen; MMA fighter
- Carl Boudreaux; truck driver
- Christian Hubicki; robotics scientist
- Davie Rickenbacker; social media manager
- Elizabeth Olson; kitchen staff
- Gabby Pascuzzi; technical writer
- Jessica Peet; waitress
- Lyrsa Velez; airline agent
- Nick Wilson; public defender
- Pat Cuasck; maintenance manager
Castaways that stood out
- Carl Boudreaux: His bio makes him seem like he will be level-headed. Looks to be in good shape. And he’s a truck driver. I like the blue-collar castaways
- Bi Nguyen: Seems to possess some important qualities of a good Survivor player. But she is brand new to the game, still has a lot to learn about how the game works. I don’t think she’ll realize how much of an adverse effect that could have on her game.
- Davie Rickenbacker: Total hunch here (even more so than the rest of these brief thoughts), but I just didn’t get a good feel reading his bio. Lots of long, extended answers. Other castaways don’t always like, let’s say, “over-talkers,” people who talk constantly.
Goliath Tribe
In first name alphabetical order:
- Alec Merlino; bartender
- Alison Raybould; physician
- Angelina Keeley; financial consultant
- Dan Rengering; SWAT officer
- Jeremy Crawford; attorney
- John Hennigan; pro wrestler
- Kara Kay; realtor
- Mike White; filmmaker
- Natalia Azoqa
- Natalie Cole; publishing CEO
Castaways that stood out
- John Hennigan & Mike White: The two celebrities for the season. It’s always interesting to see how these contestants play out. Their status could easily be a benefit or a detriment to their gameplay.
- Jeremy Crawford: On paper at least, should be a good player. He’s an attorney so he should know how to read people better than most. Hopefully he won’t be a stereotypical “arrogantly intellectual” lawyer.
- Angelina Keeley: Her bio was solid. I can’t point to one specific thing, but she just seems like she will be a good player. Looking forward to reading/hearing her interviews to see if the personality matches.
So there you have it, some brief, initial thoughts on the new cast. First impressions are good, and hopefully so. A good cast goes a long way in making a good season.
