The Mobile, Alabama leprechaun. This is one of life’s greatest traditions. There aren’t many (any?) other videos where you set aside time on a specific day each year to watch it. But this is no ordinary video. The Mobile leprechaun news story is one of the OG viral videos. If there were a Mount Rushmore of internet videos, the leprechaun in Mobile, Alabama would be a lock for one of the spots.
Amateur Sketch
This sketch takes the video from a firm A right up to solid-gold A+. Just look at it. It speaks for itself. But what makes it even better is the fact that the news station production team even allowed this to be shown in the story. Sure it’s a jokey story anyway, but using this is basically admitting they think everyone involved in the video is an idiot. This “amateur sketch” is a truly iconic moment from an iconic video.
“Who all seen the leprechaun say yeah!”
This guy. He’s the absolute best. In addition to the legendary quote, he also gave us this legendary gif. It’s been used countless times, and will only serve to cement his legacy in the viral video hall of fame.
“I want the gold.”
My dude here has the right idea. Leprechauns are obviously known for their pots of gold, so of course this guy wants to get right to the root of all this nonsense and make himself a rich man.
Leprechaun Flute
I mean. Outrageous right? This leprechaun “flute” looks pretty much like a hollowed out stick. But if you want to go around claiming it to be thousands of years old, you know what, you do you, king.
And there we have it, the highlights of what could be the greatest and funniest video of all time. There’s plenty more that I could have mentioned, but rather than read about it, it’s probably best to just watch it again.
Happy Saint Patrick’s Day!
