The fantasy recap remains the same as previous weeks: the merge can’t come soon enough! There has been a shockingly low number of idols (both real and fake) used this season. With the Ghost Island theme, I would have thought the show would have gone full-bore into idols and other advantages. The lack of those has made our little fantasy game fairly boring and uneventful so far. We’re probably two episodes (or two vote-offs, depending how the producers decided to structure the game) away from the merge. Then we’ll get into some fun. At the very least we’ll have the reward and immunity challenges so there will be points every week. I’ll do a full post-merge preview once it’s happened, but I’ll do a quick outlook for each fantasy team here as we look ahead.
Matt Points coming into this week: 7 Wendell: 0 Jacob Sebastian: 0 Stephanie J Winner pick: Wendell Episode 6 points: 0 New total: 7 Post-merge prospects: Both Wendell and Sebastian look to be in good positions to make the merge and both should be threats in most, if not all, individual challenges. I’m not sure Sebastian can win the game, but he has top 3/top 4 potential. Wendell should be one of the favorites to win at this point in the game.
Maddie Points coming into this week: 4 Domenick: 0 Desiree: 0 Michael: 0 Chris: 0 Winner pick: Wendell Episode 6 points: 0 New total: 4 Post-merge prospects: Sitting in a great position, as the only one with all four players left. Domenick and Michael (provided he can survive into the merge, which looks iffy right now) are threats to win. She hasn’t shown a lot yet, but I think Des could come on strong after the merge. Chris won’t win the game, but he could get taken to the end as a goat and could win a few challenges along the way.
Chris Points coming into this week: 5 Brendan Laurel: 0 Chelsea: 0 Morgan Winner pick: Kellyn Episode 6 points: 0 New total: 5 Post-merge prospects: Not good. Laurel should still be in the potential winner conversation, but Chelsea is far, far away from it. If she makes the merge, she actually might be forgotten on the beach and have to make her way to the new camp by herself.
Mary Points coming into this week: 0 James: 5; voted off, placing 15th Kellyn: 0 Jenna: 0 Donathan: 0 Winner pick: Kellyn Episode 6 points: 5 New total: 5 Post-merge prospects: Kellyn is a serious threat to win, but Jenna and Donathan not so much. But either could get pulled along to the end. Jenna might sneak in a challenge win or two, but I would be surprised if Donathan wins any individual challenges.
City Points coming into this week: 0 Libby: 0 Angela: 0 Stephanie Bradley: 0 Winner pick: Libby Episode 6 points: 0 New total: 0 Post-merge prospects: All three should make the merge, but I’m not sure how likely it is the winner comes from this group. Off the cuff, Chelsea is the only one I’d for sure put Angela ahead if I were doing potential winner rankings. Right now, Bradley has “No vote goat” written all over him. I still can’t quite figure out Libby. She’s beautiful, she’s personable, she has done fine in the challenges. But we haven’t seen anything yet that suggests she has the strategic chops to pull it off. However, she hasn’t done anything to make me think she can’t do it. She’ll be one to watch after the merge.
