‘Westworld’ Season 2: Titles And Brief Descriptions Released For First Five Episodes

Entertainment Weekly

HBO has release the titles and “descriptions” for the first five episodes of season 2 of Westworld. And description is written in jest as, in classic HBO fashion, very little information is revealed in each. They are below, along with some brief thoughts for each.

Episode 1: “Journey into Night”
“The puppet show is over, and we are coming for you and the rest of your kind. Welcome back to Westworld.”

My thoughts: I think the season premiere is going to be balls-to-the-wall in all the best ways. I don’t even care how they do it, it’s just going to be amazing. So yeah, this is less of a thought on the episode direction and more of a thought that the season premiere will be a 90/100 at worst.

Episode 2: “Reunion”
“Why don’t we start at the beginning?”

My thoughts: Sounds like a solid back story episode. I’m all for a good flash back and it sounds like that’s what we’ll be getting here. Remember the best Lost flash backs? Think that but way, way better.

Episode 3: “Virtù e Fortuna”
“There is beauty in who we are. Shouldn’t we, too, try to survive?”

My thoughts: Maybe a host-centric episode? One where Dolores and/or Maeve gets a central storyline?

Episode 4: “The Riddle of the Sphinx”
“Is this now? If you’re looking forward, you’re looking in the wrong direction.”

My thoughts: Maybe an episode that flips back and forth a bunch between multiple timelines? You have to imagine season 2 will again be going with multiple timelines. This episode could be showing us events in the past that are direct parallels to part of the present-day storyline.

Episode 5: “Akane No Mai”
“ショーグン・ワールドへようこそ (Welcome to Shogun World)”

My thoughts: Shogun World? Yes please, Don’t think anything else needs to be said for this one.

Westworld returns April 22nd.
