WrestleMania 34 Predictions

SmackDown Tag Team Championship Match
The Usos (C) vs. The New Day vs. The Bludgeon Brothers
Excitement level: 3

This match needs to go in a spot where nobody will care, and this would be perfect. The fans would be exhausted after the Smackdown Women’s title match and need a moment to cool down, so why not give it to them? The Usos and The New Day have passed these titles back and forth seemingly for decades, and I really don’t care who has them anymore. It just feels like the Bludgeon Brothers were added so we wouldn’t see Usos vs. New Day for the 200th time. I’m not suddenly buying Harper and Rowan them as a credible tag team after years of failed runs together, but WWE writers apparently want everyone to believe they are monsters for the time being.

Prediction: Bludgeon Brothers. They’ve been made to look so strong as of late that any result other than a win would stop all momentum they’ve gained.

Non-title Match
Daniel Bryan & Shane McMahon vs. Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn
Excitement level: 8

Here’s what you need to know about this match: Daniel and Shane manage SmackDown Live. Kevin and Sami have been dicks to them for the better part of a year. Daniel recently fired both of them, but will give them their jobs back if they are able to defeat him and Shane. The main source of my excitement is that Daniel Bryan has not wrestled in over three years due to head and neck injuries, but was medically cleared a couple weeks ago to resume his wrestling career. He is fire in a wrestling ring and it will be great to see him back. The only bad outcome of this match would be him getting seriously injured again.

Prediction: Daniel Bryan & Shane McMahon. There’s been a big emphasis put on the fact that Kevin and Sami have been fired “from SmackDown Live.” This leaves open a very suspicious possibility that they could appear on RAW if they were to lose this match. I’ll go out on a limb and say they go with that result to swerve viewers.

RAW Women’s Championship Match
Alexa Bliss (C) vs. Nia Jax
Excitement level: 6

Alexa and Nia used to be friends, but we’ve learned Alexa has been using Nia all along as more of a bodyguard. In Alexa’s words, Nia is “just as dumb as she is big.” Yikes. The storyline here is what sells the match. I don’t expect any mind-blowing in-ring performances, but it will be interesting to see how the match is laid out. Nia has a huge size advantage and I’m guessing she will come out very aggressive while Alexa runs away for at least a few minutes.

Prediction: Nia Jax. Alexa has been a thoroughly entertaining and arrogant champion, but if the WWE wants to make this outcome the least bit realistic, I don’t see how she could physically overcome Nia to retain her title.

Non-title Match
John Cena vs. The Undertaker
Excitement level: 8

We don’t officially know if the Undertaker will show up, but WWE has been teasing this match for over a month now. John Cena comes out every week on RAW to call out the Undertaker and never gets a response, so he’s grown increasingly frustrated. It’s all but a lock that this match happens after Cena tries one more time to draw out the Deadman. Wrestling-wise, it will be pretty terrible. The Undertaker can barely move so Cena will need to carry him throughout this one, both figuratively and literally. However, this is a dream match by any definition and seeing these two in a ring at WrestleMania will be an iconic moment in WWE history.

Prediction: Undertaker. This has to be Undertaker’s last match and I think WWE will go the route of sending him out on top.
